Based on the state approved curriculum our Teen Driver Course consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel (BTW) training.

The 24 hours of classroom instruction is divided into eight 3-hour class sessions. It is here that the student will be informed with the knowledge base about safely driving an automobile. Utilizing various teaching methods including: lecture, hands-on and video/multimedia presentations, students will be informed about driving safely in a meaningful and memorable way.

Mon, Tue, Thur: 6:30pm to 9:40pm
(includes 10min break)
The 8 hours of behind the wheel (BTW) training consists of four 2-hour drive sessions. Here the students hone their driving skills and begin to develop and master good technique and habits (with a focus on defensive driving and accident avoidance) that will help prepare them for their driving exam and equip them for a lifetime of safe and responsible driving.
1) BASIC DRIVE
(Left & right turns residential, rural roads, lane changing, maneuverability*)
2) CITY DRIVE
(Left & right turns @ major intersections, one way streets, parking techniques, maneuverability*)
4) FREEWAY DRIVE
(Entering and exiting (handling merging traffic—approx. 10-12 times), maneuverability*)
3) EXAM DRIVE
(Simulated exam (road/maneuverability test), maneuverability*)
*Maneuverability will be practiced on each drive session (approx 20-30min. per drive) accumulating 1.5-2 hours of total practice time.
